Set in the thriving village of St John’s Chapel in Weardale, Little Sparrow Cottage is a cosy bolthole for two with oodles of country charm. An oasis of luxury for anyone seeking a relaxed holiday in stunning countryside, the cottage is located at the heart of the North Pennines National Landscape (formerly known as AONB).

The cottage is a wonderful retreat where fresh country air and cosy pubs are the perfect antidote to busy lives and hectic schedules.

Step inside, and the cottage is snug and characterful. A wood burning stove keeps things toasty on cooler days, while the compact but well equipped galley kitchen is ideal for whipping up a few holiday treats or a romantic supper for two. Upstairs features a spacious bedroom and luxury en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath.

Our
Cottage

Little Sparrow Cottage is a fully equipped, one bedroomed cottage recently renovated to a luxury standard.

Downstairs, the accommodation features a comfortable lounge with log-burner and dining area, a fully equipped galley kitchen, downstairs WC and cloakroom.

Upstairs has a spacious bedroom with a super-king sized bed. This can be converted to twin beds if required. The bedroom has a luxury ensuite bathroom, with walk-in shower and roll-top bath.

Outside, the south facing rear patio is perfect for enjoying the sunshine and lazy evenings. The garden is fully enclosed and dog safe.

Bring your dog!

As Maggie, our black Labrador, knows so well, it’s doggy heaven here. Lots of great walks and smells, a river to swim in, plus dog-friendly pubs and café.

We do, however, have some rules around pets. We only allow one dog in the cottage, unless by prior arrangement. The dog is not allowed upstairs, on the furniture or on the bed. We know that dogs can get muddy, so doggy towels are provided in the downstairs cloakroom and we should be grateful if you would use them before the dog comes into the house.
